Camping in San Clemente

We went camping in San Clemente the weekend of the 10th with some friends.  Greg, Michael Eller, Alex and I headed down on Friday while the others (Meg, Justin, Bradley, Kacey) joined us on Saturday.  Here's a few pics from our weekend!

First fire of the trip.  Good job boys!

This is our new tent!  Very exciting. It was called "the mansion" all weekend because it's so big. Lol. It was nice to stretch out for once.

We borrowed this game from our friend Coleman. It's a take on horse shoes and it's a blast. I'm not so good at it, but you always have a partner so even if you suck you might not lose too badly.

Meg with her new tent that she got for her birthday.

Our campsite!

On Saturday the guys decided it would be fun to swim.  I thought it was crazy too!

Alex is a little hesitate... hence the lagging!

Eller, Justin, Meg and Alex, playing a little bocce ball.

I ran into Bradley's tent on Sunday and cut my food. It made a perfect check mark!

Alex provided the first aid! He took excellent care of me!

More horseshoes!

Alex took these amazing pictures of the sunset Saturday night.

Eller and Meg had a stand off. A "hand-stand" off.

Look how cute Alex is!

Long day at the beach! Meg, Justin, Greg and Eller.

Alex and I went for a walk on the beach while everyone else napped.

Sunset Saturday night with everyone!

Alex getting the fire started. Almost dinner time.

Bradley does not like it when Meg wears socks with her crocs.

Bradley and Kacey finally arrived so it was time for another group photo!

Kacey brought the smores down Saturday night. This was the first smore of the trip! Mmm...

Justin (Meg's beau)

Greg and Eller were responsible for dinner Saturday night. It included ground beef and veggies wrapped in aluminum and placed on the fire. Greg is getting the beef ready in this pic. (Gag!)

Meg is really excited about dinner!

Bradley took the safer route and opted for a hot dog that night. (Mel did too!)

Kacey is thinking about shotgunning another beer.

Alex "meat pie." Or as Eller and Greg call it, "hobo pie."

Bradley plays this game where he picks a word from the "stars and our great great grand uncle"... A word that describes our very being. It's the rather elaborate game that we play every time we're in a group. It's kind of hard to describe but really quite hilarious.  Bradley is giving Alex his word, "adorable."

My word, chosen by the stars and the beings of old, was "loud". Ouch!

Bradley hasn't even given Meg her word yet and she's already nervous.

Meg's word... "dramatic".

Greg provided the background music beating a couple of sticks on the fire pit.

Alex, soaking up the good times!

Bradley, Greg, Kacey and Eller. Thumbs up= good times!

Around 10 or 11PM we headed to the beach for cigars and train spotting. It was beautiful and deserted.

Great picture (taken by Bradley) of Eller lighting a clove. Apparently all the girls at his office love this pic.

Alex, Eller and Bradley

Meg wanted in on this one. Can you tell?

Handsome man, isn't he?

Everyone checking out the ocean. It was a perfect night!

Bradley's had too much, obviously. Eller, still going strong.

Meg!

We're standing on the train tracks that run along the beach in San Clemente.

Bradley derives a lot of his inspiration from Michael Jackson.

Bradley made breakfast burritos Sunday morn. Excellent decision!

Meg enjoying a little camp coffee out of her snazzy new camping coffee mug!

Kacey aka "Shot Gun"

Eller looks like a rock star in the mornings! I don't think he's awake yet in this picture.

Time to pack up before we head out.

We wanted to take a final group picture before driving off. One of neighbors at a nearby campsite took this for us. He didn't bother to tell us that we'd all have stripes on our faces. Fortunately someone else pointed that out so we moved and took two more.

Alex and I carpooled with Eller and Greg. After picking up our car at their apartment, Alex and I stopped for a little lunch. Mmmm... Rally's. Reminds me of my cross country days in high school.

Alex enjoying his rally burger and soda.

This Saturday... pumpkin carving at Eller & Greg's place. There's bound to be some good pictures!!
