Next, I gave him his big surprise gift... U2 tickets!!
Our tickets were general admission so it meant standing in line for a couple of hours before the concert. We showed up around 2:30pm. Some people had been in line since Thursday morning!!

Once in line, the wait was more than worth it. We had spots just feet away from the cat walk. And that's the stage just beyond the catwalk. Amazing. Best spots in the whole house.

Black Eyed Peas opened for U2!

There was this awesome screen that circled the stage and they had video of the bands showing as they performed. Sometimes the photos of the screen were a little easier to take.

Full house!
The stage was supposed to look like an alien ship, I think. This is one of the legs coming out of the side.
Waiting for U2 to get on stage...
U2!!
We were so close we could have leaned over and touched them at times.

At one point the the screen came apart and lowered. This is fully extended. Crazy!!

The Edge and Larry.

So cool to know these guys actually like each other.
These were shots of the screen as the guys were walking off stage.
So cool!
Time to go!
Last couple shots of the stadium.

Our hotel was one mile from the stadium. After the show, while all the cars were in gridlock, we just walked back to the hotel. Took about ten minutes. We had friends in cars that sat in the lot for 90 plus minutes. : )
The ticket that got us in. The ticket that I bought seven months ago and have kept a secret for that long! Whew!!
After the show we were starving so we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings for a beer and some food. We hadn't eaten all day!

So after a beer, some fried mushroom and some wings.... it was time to get some sleep.
Final picture of the night. Tired, sore but totally satisfied!
Saturday morning... in search of some coffee. Then off to breakfast with April and Chris.

I got a kick out of the sign in the bathroom.
We decided to head up to Zion for a little hiking. We stopped along the way for a little apple picking!! I'm going to attempt my first apple pie.

Chris went for the good ones at the top of the tree

Wild turkeys!

Zion!

April and Mel
We spent Saturday night at Chris' parents house. They have a beautiful home and we had the entire bottom floor to ourselves. Better than any hotel! :)
As seems to be our tradition, we stopped at the outlets on the way home.
Alex was very surprised by the weekend and we had a great time. This weekend we celebrate with our annual Halloween Birthday party. Pictures will follow! I promise not to wait a month. :)
